We fundamentally believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to ride.
Our team is dedicated to removing barriers so all Middlebury students can join us.
To do this we:
Organize carpools and reimburse driver's for gas money to ensure that all riders can get to the barn at no cost
Provide low-cost alternatives to purchasing new riding gear through our club inventory, trips to consignment tack stores, and loaning gear from other riders
Offer free, mounted try (it) outs to new riders
Arrange for captain-led ground workshops for all new riders to the program
Subsidize all club and team rider lesson fees to reduce lesson costs for everyone
Provide scholarships to team riders with demonstrated need, ensuring that they can ride for free
Work with riders who do not qualify for a scholarship but still have financial need to apply for other funding opportunities such as Opportunity Grants
Cover all fees associate with showing including, but not limited to: show transportation, entry fees, and coaching fees
We also work closely with other folks on campus including the Anderson Freeman Resource center (AFC), Miguel Fernandez (Chief Diversity Officer), the Opportunity Grant Fund, Club Sports leadership, the Student Activities Office (SAO), the Athletic Department, and many more to ensure that our team remains equitable for all.
